From 30 November 2022, changes in Channel 7’s channel line-up required the transition from MPEG2 technology to MPEG4.
MPEG4 enables broadcasters to improve the quality of the services they deliver to meet consumer demand.
The changes were as follows:
- The 7mate SD channel ceased operations. The HD version continued to be available (in MPEG4).
- 7flix moved exclusively to MPEG4
- In regional Queensland, 7two moved exclusively to MPEG4
- Our newest channel, 7Bravo, which launched in January 2023, is also broadcast using MPEG4.
Changes should have automatically appeared in the channel list of most TVs. If they did not, then the first thing to do is to re-tune your TV.
Most TVs have an option to automatically re-scan channels within the TV menu.
If you are unsure how to re-scan channels you should refer to your TV manual or contact the manufacturer of your TV. https://support.7plus.com.au/hc/en-au/articles/10983914845837-OEM-Manufacturers-Contacts)
